Buying Pallets
What types of pallets do you sell?
We offer a wide range of pallets including recycled pallets (Grade A, B, and C), refurbished pallets, heat-treated pallets, and custom-built pallets. Our inventory includes standard sizes like 48x40", 48x48", 42x42", as well as custom dimensions. We also carry both stringer and block pallets in 2-way and 4-way entry configurations.
What is the difference between Grade A, B, and C pallets?
Grade A pallets are premium recycled pallets in excellent condition with minimal wear, suitable for retail displays and clean environments. Grade B pallets are standard workhorses - structurally sound with some cosmetic imperfections, perfect for warehousing and shipping. Grade C pallets are economy options showing significant wear but still functional, ideal for one-way shipping or applications where appearance doesn't matter. All grades are thoroughly inspected and safe for use.
Do you have pallets in stock or do I need to wait?
We maintain large inventory of the most common sizes (48x40", 48x48") in all grades and can typically fulfill orders immediately or within 24-48 hours. Less common sizes may require 3-5 days. Custom pallets require 1-2 weeks depending on specifications. Contact us for real-time availability on your specific needs.
What is the minimum order quantity?
We have no minimum order requirement. Whether you need a single pallet or 1,000+, we can help. However, delivery fees may apply to very small orders. For the best per-unit pricing and free delivery, we recommend ordering at least 25-50 pallets at a time. Bulk orders of 100+ receive significant volume discounts.
Can I inspect the pallets before purchasing?
Absolutely! We encourage customers to visit our facility to inspect inventory before making large purchases. You can see our grading standards firsthand and select specific pallets if desired. For smaller orders, we guarantee the quality meets the grade you order or we'll replace them at no charge. Call ahead to schedule an inspection visit.
Do you offer pallet rental or exchange programs?
Yes! We offer several flexible programs: Pallet Exchange - trade your used pallets for credit toward refurbished ones; Closed-Loop Program - we supply pallets, collect used ones, refurbish them, and return them to you; and Short-term Rental for temporary projects or seasonal needs. These programs reduce costs and support sustainability. Contact us to discuss which option works best for your business.
Selling Pallets
Do you buy used pallets? What condition do they need to be in?
Yes, we actively purchase used pallets in all conditions! We buy pallets that are still functional, repairable pallets with damage, and even broken pallets for parts and recycling. The better the condition, the higher the price we can offer. Even pallets that seem beyond repair have value - we recover the lumber and materials. The only pallets we cannot purchase are those contaminated with hazardous chemicals or heavily rotted.
How much will you pay for my used pallets?
Pricing depends on several factors: condition (Grade A commands $4-7, Grade B $2-4, Grade C $1-2), size (standard 48x40" worth more than odd sizes), quantity (we pay more for larger volumes), and current market demand. We provide free on-site assessments for large quantities. We also offer credit exchange programs where used pallets may be worth more when traded for refurbished inventory.
Do you offer pickup service for used pallets?
Yes! We provide free pickup for quantities of 50+ pallets within the Philadelphia metro area. For smaller quantities or locations outside our standard service area, there may be a pickup fee (typically $50-100). You can also drop off pallets at our facility anytime during business hours. For very large quantities (500+), we can arrange special pickup schedules and competitive pricing.
How quickly can you pick up pallets from my facility?
We typically schedule pickups within 2-3 business days of your request. For urgent removal needs, we often can accommodate same-day or next-day pickup. Large warehouses and distribution centers can arrange regular scheduled pickups (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly) so pallets never accumulate. Contact us to set up your pickup schedule.
What if I have pallets that aren't standard sizes?
We buy all sizes! While standard sizes (48x40", 48x48") command the highest prices due to demand, we purchase custom and unusual sizes too. Odd-size pallets may be worth less in the resale market but still have value for material recovery, recycling, or customers needing those specific dimensions. Contact us with your inventory details for an accurate quote.
Can you help with pallet removal and disposal?
Absolutely. We handle complete pallet removal and ensure environmentally responsible disposal. Unlike paying disposal fees to have pallets hauled to landfills, we often pay you for the pallets and guarantee they'll be recycled, reused, or repurposed. We provide documentation of recycling for your sustainability reporting if needed. This turns a waste disposal cost into a revenue stream.
Pricing
How much do recycled pallets cost?
Recycled pallet pricing varies by grade and availability: Grade A (premium recycled) typically $7-12 each, Grade B (standard) $4-8 each, and Grade C (economy) $2-5 each. New custom pallets range from $15-50 depending on size, wood type, and specifications. These prices are significantly lower than new pallets ($20-35) while delivering comparable performance. Volume discounts apply for orders of 50+ units.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes! We offer tiered pricing based on quantity: 25-99 pallets receive 10-15% discount, 100-499 pallets get 15-25% discount, and 500+ pallets receive 25-35% discount. Regular customers with ongoing needs can establish account pricing with even better rates. Custom quotes provided for very large orders (1,000+). The more you buy, the more you save per unit.
Are delivery fees included in the price?
Delivery is FREE for orders of 50+ pallets within 30 miles of Philadelphia. For smaller orders (1-49 pallets), delivery fees range from $50-150 depending on quantity and distance. Orders outside our standard delivery area may incur additional fees based on mileage. You can always pick up pallets from our facility at no charge. Delivery fees are transparent and quoted upfront.
How do your prices compare to new pallets?
Our recycled pallets cost 40-60% less than new pallets while providing similar structural performance and lifespan. A new 48x40" pallet costs $20-35, while our Grade A recycled is $7-12 and Grade B is $4-8. Over a year, switching to recycled pallets can save a typical warehouse $10,000-50,000 depending on volume. Plus, you support sustainability and can often sell us your used pallets, creating a circular economy that further reduces costs.
Do prices fluctuate? How stable is your pricing?
Recycled pallet prices are generally more stable than new pallets because we're not as affected by lumber market volatility. However, prices can vary seasonally (higher in summer/fall due to increased demand) and based on local supply of used pallets. We strive to maintain consistent pricing for regular customers. For long-term contracts or recurring orders, we can lock in pricing for 6-12 months to help with your budgeting.
What payment terms do you offer?
We accept various payment methods: credit cards, checks, ACH transfers, and cash. For first-time customers, payment is typically due upon delivery or pickup. Established business customers can apply for NET 30 payment terms with approved credit. Volume customers and regular accounts may qualify for NET 60 terms. We also offer prepayment discounts (2-3% off) for customers who pay in advance.
Sizes & Specifications
What are the most common pallet sizes?
The most common size in North America is 48x40" (GMA standard), used extensively in retail and grocery. Other popular sizes include 48x48" (drums, automotive, ideal for container shipping), 42x42" (paint, telecom, beverage industries), 40x48" (military, cement), and 48x36" (beverage). We stock all of these in multiple grades. For international shipping, 1200x1000mm (EUR pallet) is the European standard.
What is the standard pallet height?
Most pallets are 4-6 inches tall (measured from ground to top deck surface). Block pallets tend to be around 5.5-6", while stringer pallets are typically 4-5". Height can vary based on construction and load requirements. Total height including the load should be considered for storage and shipping - standard practice is to keep loaded pallets under 48" tall for safe stacking and transport.
How much weight can a pallet hold?
Weight capacity depends on construction and condition. Standard GMA 48x40" pallets typically support: Static load (on floor) 4,000-6,000 lbs, Dynamic load (being moved) 2,000-3,000 lbs, and Racking load (on warehouse racks) 1,500-2,500 lbs. Heavy-duty 48x48" pallets can handle 6,000-8,000 lbs static. Our grading accounts for structural integrity - Grade A pallets support full rated capacity, while Grade C may have reduced capacity. We can recommend appropriate grades for your weight requirements.
What's the difference between stringer and block pallets?
Stringer pallets use three parallel boards (stringers) as the base support, creating 2-way entry - forklifts can only enter from two opposite sides. Block pallets use blocks at corners and center for support, creating 4-way entry - forklifts can access from all four sides, offering more flexibility. Block pallets are generally more durable and allow for better handling but cost more. Stringer pallets are lighter and more economical. We stock both types in various sizes.
Can I get custom-sized pallets?
Yes! We manufacture custom pallets to your exact specifications - any length (24-96"), any width (20-60"), any deck height, and any entry configuration. Custom pallets take 1-2 weeks to produce depending on complexity. They're ideal for unique products, specialized equipment, maximizing container efficiency, or meeting specific industry requirements. Pricing is based on materials, labor, and complexity, typically $15-50 per pallet. Contact us with your specifications for a detailed quote.
What does ISPM-15 mean and do I need it?
ISPM-15 is an international standard requiring wood pallets for export to be heat-treated to kill pests and stamped with certification marks. If you're shipping internationally, you need ISPM-15 compliant pallets - most countries require it. Domestic-only shipping doesn't require it, though many companies use ISPM-15 pallets to avoid segregating inventory. We offer heat treatment and certification services, and can stamp pallets with proper documentation. Heat treatment adds $3-5 per pallet.
Delivery & Logistics
What areas do you deliver to?
We provide regular delivery service throughout the Greater Philadelphia area including Philadelphia County, Delaware County, Montgomery County, Bucks County, Chester County, and parts of South Jersey and Delaware. Free delivery is available within 30 miles for orders of 50+ pallets. We can deliver to areas outside our standard service zone for an additional fee based on distance. Contact us if you're unsure whether you're in our service area.
How long does delivery take?
Standard delivery timeline is 2-3 business days from order confirmation for in-stock pallets. Rush delivery (24 hours) is available for 50% surcharge. For custom pallets, allow 1-2 weeks for manufacturing plus 2-3 days for delivery. We offer scheduled recurring deliveries (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) for businesses with ongoing needs. Large orders (500+ pallets) may require multiple shipments over 2-3 days depending on truck capacity.
Do you require a loading dock or forklift for delivery?
For large orders, a loading dock or forklift is highly recommended but not strictly required. Our trucks are equipped with lift gates for ground-level delivery to locations without docks. If you don't have a forklift, our drivers can typically offload pallets using the truck's equipment, though this may require additional delivery time. For very large orders without handling equipment, we can arrange specialized delivery services at additional cost. Let us know your facility capabilities when ordering.
Can I pick up pallets myself instead of delivery?
Absolutely! Customer pickup is always available during our business hours (Monday-Friday 7am-5pm, Saturday 8am-2pm). Pickup orders have no delivery fees and can often be fulfilled immediately or within a few hours for in-stock items. Bring a truck, trailer, or van - we'll help load. Make sure your vehicle can handle the weight and quantity you're ordering. Call ahead to confirm availability and prepare your order for quick loading.
What if pallets are damaged during delivery?
We take great care in transport, but occasional damage can occur. Inspect your delivery before signing the delivery receipt and note any damage. Report issues within 24 hours and we'll arrange for replacement or credit for damaged pallets at no charge. Our quality guarantee ensures you receive the grade of pallet you ordered in good condition. We stand behind our products and service 100%.
Can you deliver to multiple locations?
Yes! We handle multi-location deliveries for businesses with multiple warehouses, retail stores, or distribution points. We can split orders across locations, deliver on different dates, and coordinate with your receiving schedules. This is common for retail chains, multi-site manufacturers, and companies with regional distribution centers. Multi-stop delivery fees apply but are typically reasonable for larger total orders. Contact us to coordinate logistics for your multi-location needs.
Quality & Grades
How do you grade your pallets?
We use a comprehensive grading system based on structural integrity, appearance, and usability. Grade A: Excellent condition, like-new appearance, minimal wear, all boards intact, suitable for customer-facing applications and clean environments. Grade B: Good structural condition, some cosmetic wear, may have replaced boards, perfect for general warehouse and shipping use. Grade C: Functional but showing significant wear, may have multiple repairs or stains, ideal for one-way shipping or applications where appearance doesn't matter. All grades are thoroughly inspected and safe to use.
What quality control measures do you have?
Every pallet goes through multi-point inspection: Visual examination for broken boards, splits, and structural damage; Load testing to verify capacity ratings; Grading assessment by experienced staff; Nail/fastener check to ensure secure connections; Measurement verification for size accuracy; and Cleaning to remove debris and contaminants. Pallets that don't meet our standards are either repaired, downgraded, or recycled for materials. We never sell unsafe or structurally compromised pallets.
Are recycled pallets safe and reliable?
Absolutely! Properly graded and inspected recycled pallets are just as safe and reliable as new pallets. Grade A recycled pallets perform virtually identically to new pallets at a fraction of the cost. The key is proper inspection, grading, and any necessary repairs - which we handle meticulously. Many Fortune 500 companies and major retailers use recycled pallets exclusively. They've been proven in billions of shipments across every industry. Our 15+ years in business and thousands of satisfied customers attest to the reliability of quality recycled pallets.
Do you clean and sanitize pallets?
Yes. All pallets are cleaned of loose debris, sawdust, and dirt before sale. For industries with higher cleanliness standards (food, pharmaceutical), we offer additional sanitization services. Food-grade pallets receive enhanced cleaning and are stored separately to prevent cross-contamination. Heat-treated pallets (ISPM-15) undergo temperature treatment that also serves as sanitization. We can provide documentation of cleaning and treatment processes for your compliance needs. Special cleaning requirements can be accommodated for an additional fee.
What is your return/exchange policy?
Customer satisfaction is our priority. If pallets don't meet the grade you ordered or have undisclosed defects, contact us within 48 hours of delivery for full replacement or refund. We'll pick up the unsuitable pallets at no charge and deliver replacements. If you order the wrong size or change your mind, returns are accepted within 7 days for a refund minus delivery fees (15% restocking fee may apply). Damaged pallets due to shipping issues are replaced immediately at no cost. We stand behind our quality 100%.
How long do recycled pallets last?
Lifespan depends on grade, usage, and care. Grade A recycled pallets typically last 3-5 years with normal use, comparable to new pallets. Grade B pallets last 2-4 years. Grade C economy pallets are often used for one-way shipping or shorter-term applications (6 months to 2 years). Proper handling (avoiding drops, overloading, or forklift damage) significantly extends lifespan. Many pallets can be repaired when damaged, further extending useful life. With our repair services, a well-maintained pallet can circulate for 10+ years through multiple repair cycles.

Understanding Pallet Grading Standards and What They Mean for Your Business
Pallet grading is a critical quality assessment system that helps buyers understand exactly what condition they're purchasing. Unlike new pallets where quality is relatively uniform, recycled and refurbished pallets vary significantly based on their history, wear patterns, and repair quality. Our grading system provides transparency and ensures you get pallets that match your operational needs and budget. Grade A pallets represent the premium tier of recycled inventory - these pallets are structurally excellent with minimal cosmetic wear, typically having served only one or two previous users in controlled warehouse environments. They feature intact original boards with no more than one or two replaced components, clean appearance suitable for retail or customer-facing environments, consistent dimensions with no warping, all original fasteners secure and tight, and capability to support full rated load capacity. These pallets are ideal for businesses that require presentation quality, such as retail displays, clean room manufacturing, food and pharmaceutical operations, export shipments where appearance matters, and any application where the pallet might be visible to customers or partners.
Grade B pallets represent the workhorse category - these are functionally sound pallets showing moderate wear from multiple use cycles but maintaining full structural integrity. They typically have 3-5 replaced boards or repaired stringers, some cosmetic staining or discoloration, possible minor wood splits that don't affect strength, securely refastened connections, and full load-bearing capacity for their size class. Grade B pallets offer the best value proposition for most warehouse and distribution operations, providing reliable performance at 40-50% below Grade A pricing. They're perfect for general warehousing, shipping between businesses, stacking on warehouse racking, one-way shipments where returns aren't expected, and any operation where pallet appearance is secondary to functionality. Grade C pallets are the economy tier - these pallets are functional but show significant wear, often serving as excellent solutions for limited-use applications. They feature multiple repaired or replaced components, visible wear and weathering, possible cosmetic damage like broken corner blocks that don't affect core strength, tested for safety but rated for reduced capacity, and priced at just 20-40% of new pallet cost. These are ideal for one-way shipments, temporary storage solutions, bottom layers in multi-pallet stacks, non-critical applications, and situations where you need inexpensive functional platforms without concern for appearance or multi-year lifespan.
Complete Cost-Benefit Analysis: New vs. Recycled vs. Rental Pallets
Making informed pallet purchasing decisions requires understanding total cost of ownership, not just initial purchase price. New pallets represent the highest upfront investment at $20-35 per standard unit, but offer maximum durability, consistent quality, and 7-10 year lifespan potential. They're ideal for businesses building long-term inventory, companies with extended internal pallet circulation systems, operations requiring absolute consistency in dimensions and capacity, export-intensive businesses needing pristine appearance, and situations where upfront capital investment yields better lifetime economics. The total cost of ownership for new pallets over their lifetime can actually be competitive when you factor in their longevity - a $30 new pallet lasting 10 years costs $3 annually, while a $8 Grade B pallet lasting 3-4 years costs $2-2.67 annually, making the annual cost differential smaller than the purchase price suggests. However, this calculation assumes you retain pallets throughout their lifespan, which many businesses don't.
Recycled pallets offer the best value for most businesses, particularly those with one-way shipping models or standard 2-3 year pallet turnover. Grade A recycled at $7-12 provides 60-70% cost savings versus new while delivering 3-5 years of service - perfect for businesses that value quality but recognize pallets as consumable assets rather than long-term capital equipment. Grade B at $4-8 offers 75-85% savings with 2-4 year lifespan, ideal for high-volume operations where cost per shipment is critical. The compelling economic case becomes clear at scale: a distribution center shipping 10,000 pallet loads annually choosing Grade B recycled over new pallets saves $180,000-270,000 per year while achieving virtually identical operational performance. Rental and pooling programs present a third option worth considering for specific situations - monthly rental typically costs $3-6 per pallet depending on program type, eliminating purchase cost and disposal responsibility while providing consistent quality and simplified logistics. Rental makes particular sense for businesses with seasonal volume fluctuations, companies entering new markets testing demand, operations without space to store empty pallets, and businesses preferring operational expenses over capital expenditures for accounting purposes. The break-even typically occurs around 2-3 months - pallets circulating faster favor rental, while pallets retained longer favor purchase.
Navigating International Shipping Compliance and ISPM-15 Requirements
International pallet shipping introduces complex regulatory requirements that can result in costly delays, rejected shipments, or destroyed cargo if not properly addressed. The most critical standard is ISPM-15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15), established by the International Plant Protection Convention to prevent the spread of wood-boring insects and diseases across borders. ISPM-15 requires that all wooden packaging materials - including pallets, crates, and dunnage - used in international commerce must be heat-treated or fumigated to eliminate pest risks, then marked with specific certification stamps identifying the treatment facility, country code, and treatment method. The heat treatment process requires wood to reach 56 degrees Celsius (132.8 degrees Fahrenheit) for a minimum of 30 continuous minutes throughout the entire wood profile, including the core of the thickest pieces. This kills insects, larvae, and pathogens without using chemicals, making it the environmentally preferred and most widely accepted method. After treatment, pallets receive the official ISPM-15 stamp showing the country code (US for United States), unique facility registration number, and HT indicator for heat treatment (or MB for the now-rare methyl bromide fumigation).
Compliance extends beyond just having the stamp - customs officials worldwide inspect for proper stamp placement (typically on at least two opposite sides), legibility of stamp markings, absence of pest evidence or damage, and general pallet condition. Using non-compliant pallets for international shipment carries severe consequences: shipments may be refused entry and returned at your expense, pallets can be destroyed with costs charged to the shipper, cargo may be delayed for days or weeks during fumigation, receivers may refuse future shipments due to compliance issues, and some countries impose significant fines for non-compliant shipping materials. Countries including all EU nations, Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, Mexico, and over 100 others enforce ISPM-15, making it effectively a global standard. Interestingly, ISPM-15 doesn't require new pallets - properly heat-treated and stamped recycled pallets are fully compliant and widely used in international commerce, offering compliant solutions at significant cost savings. We provide ISPM-15 treatment and certification for both new and recycled pallets, typically adding $3-5 per pallet to ensure your international shipments clear customs without issues. For businesses shipping internationally regularly, it's often wise to use ISPM-15 compliant pallets for all inventory rather than segregating domestic and international stock, simplifying operations and eliminating the risk of accidentally using non-compliant pallets on international shipments.
